The two new custom-designed high-definition mobile phones will improve the broadcasting of sports and live events from across the Middle East.

SONY_DubaiMEDIADubai Media Incorporated (DMI) has confirmed the order for two high-definition mobile units from Sony Professional Solutions in the Middle East. These vehicles will be an essential element in the high definition broadcast of the most demanding and relevant sporting competitions in Dubai and the Middle East region. Its design will aim to offer future technology and great flexibility in the use of space and vehicle work areas.

These are thirteen-meter caravans with expandable sides and equipped with the most advanced video and broadcast equipment from Sony Professional. Each vehicle will have ten HDC-1400 with fiber optic transmission and two Supermotion HDC-3300 cameras, in addition to including an MVS-8000G High Definition mixer with 2.5 M/E banks, monitors from Sony's LMD range and HDW-M2000P video recorders.

For the creation of the DMI mobile units, the Sony Professional team will work in collaboration with EVS, which will provide two six-channel slow motion servers for normal slow motion playback, as well as two

four-channel recorders for each of the Supermotion cameras. Sony's Professional Services team will provide complete in-vehicle project management to ensure video, audio and control system design, installation, configuration and testing meet DMI's specific needs.

These vehicles will contain audio mixers based on the state-of-the-art Solid State Logic SSL C132 digital audio mixing console. Since the cameras will use fiber technology for video transmission, each mobile unit will also be equipped with ten HDFX fiber to triax converters and ten HDTX fiber to triax converters. This will allow DMI engineers to connect the new fiber technology with the existing triaxial cables in the different stadiums in Dubai. All technical systems will be designed to integrate seamlessly with other vehicles in its fleet, allowing DMI to increase its capacity to cover especially large events. In this way, the initial investment can be expanded as the size of DMI's operations increases.

Hideaki Nakamura, Regional Director of Sony Professional said: "Sony Professional is delighted to announce that it will be working with Dubai Media Incorporated to expand its outdoor broadcast capabilities. At Sony Professional we design and build bespoke mobile units, and we continue to see growing demand despite the difficult economic situation. These types of projects are extremely complex, and our successes with clients like DMI suggest that clients value Sony Professional's reputation for quality design, disciplined project management and mastery of integration. as well as our commitment to working closely with them at every stage of the process to deliver quality vehicles that fit their timelines and budgets.”
