Wohler names new CEO and sets his sights on software-based solutions
Following the success of its IAM-MADI multichannel monitoring system, Wohler will focus on software-based solutions in order to be able to offer new functions and support for codecs and formats more quickly.
Wohler Technologies just named Michael Kelly president and CEO. At the same time, it has announced the beginning of a new stage more focused on software-based solutions. These changes are intended to help its customers anticipate and adapt to industry trends and opportunities, particularly the continued migration toward IP audio and video delivery.
Last April, Wohler launched the IAM-MADI multi-channel monitoring system, the first in a series of new products offering software-defined design. This architectural change benefits Wohler customers in two ways. For one thing, it allows the company to develop and deliver additional features faster than traditional hardware designs. As a result, customers can enjoy new benefits immediately by taking advantage of the latest industry protocols and formats as soon as they are approved.
On the other hand, this scheme will offer Wholer customers greater flexibility to purchase only the features they need initially and then add others through software updates as they are required.
To expand the iAM line and develop new software-defined products, Wohler is increasing its investments in software engineers and product management. This experience will enhance Wohler's ability to identify emerging customer needs, leverage new industry standards, and develop products and features that serve those market opportunities.
Wohler is also expanding its capabilities around technologies such as AES67, Aspen, and Dante to meet growing customer demand for IP-based audio and video and data monitoring solutions.
Regarding the appointment of Michael Kelly as CEO, it should be noted that this professional joined Wholer in January 2007 as executive vice president of finance and planning.
During that time, Kelly was a key player in two acquisitions and, thanks to his planning skills, helped develop strategies in all areas, including design, engineering, marketing, sales, manufacturing and after-sales service.
Kelly assured that "our shift towards defined software solutions ensures that Wohler customers will continue to have the next-generation tools they need to work more efficiently and effectively than ever. The positive market response to IAM-MADI confirms this strategy, and we look forward to the launch of additional IAM products in the first quarter of 2016."
