The Dr. Phil Show or simply Dr. Phil , an American talk show produced by CBS and starring Dr. Phil McGraw, is using technology from MOG to manage its contents.
McGraw after the success with his space in the Show de Oprah Winfrey, the Dr. Phil show debuted on September 16, 2002, accumulating countless hours of production.
For more than a year, the program has been using MOG's MXFSpeedrail platform to digitize its huge archive and manage the materials used in each program.
Digitizing content for your own archive or online storage is a difficult task, even when you have things organized and know what your workflow needs are.
Digitizing content for different “clients” with different output resolutions and output format requirements, with a wide variety of sources, since the talk show is distributed to television stations around the world, would be a daunting challenge if you do not have the right tools.
MXFSpeedral has made the entire process easy with a web-based interface, VTR control, batch capture, multi-resolution and multi-destination, and a large number of encoding formats and packages.
Tom Baird, director of engineering at The Dr. Phil Show, acknowledges that "MXFSpeedrail has been a great help when it comes to digitizing content. The flexibility of the product, the ability to control from any workstation through its web interface with video preview makes it a perfect tool to digitize content and maintain high productivity avoiding the need to move between workstations."
