Haivision Hub Dashboard

The cloud platform Haivision Hub, which allows you to manage video solutions and route live signals, receives an important update that adds numerous functions to its proposal.

Through a single web browser window, users of Haivision Hub You can now configure, monitor and control all your edge devices. Haivision, including video encoders Makito X and X4, video decoders and gateways SRT from Haivision, regardless of your location. This integrated edge-to-edge device management capability “drastically simplifies” low-latency video routing for broadcast contribution and live production. Another novelty is that, through Haivision Hub, users will be able to create “quickly and easily” Live video streams between your edge devices over any network, including the public Internet.

Haivision Hub users can take advantage of three cloud-native processing engines. Two of them can dedicate themselves to real-time transcoding: one for stream optimization and downstream support, and another for routing adaptive bitrate (ABR) cascades directly to content delivery networks (CDNs) for large-scale audience delivery. The third is a new audio processing engine which allows mixing and mapping audio streams in real time, especially useful for the distribution of live sporting events where each regional destination shares the audio stream of the main event, but with commentary in the local language.

Ghislain Collette, vice president of product management at Haivision, believes that the latest Hub update brings “a host of highly anticipated and exciting new features to our customers.” “The ability to configure and control all of your Makitos, no matter where they are, and to stream live video over any type of network is allowing broadcasters to produce high-quality video events anywhere on premises or in the cloud, using live content from anywhere,” he emphasizes.
