First images of 'Zipi and Zape and Captain's Island'
The first installment, 'Zipi y Zape y el Club de la Canica', also directed by Oskar Santos, was the highest-grossing Spanish film of 2013 and achieved great success at international festivals.
MOD Producciones, Zeta Cinema, Atresmedia Cine and Kowalski Films have released the first images of Zipi and Zape and Captain's Island.
Directed by Oskar Santos and starring Elena Anaya, the film is performed by the young Teo Planell and Toni Gómez who give life to the two mischievous twins in this new installment. Along with them, their new gang formed by Iria Castellano, Máximo Pastor and Ana Blanco de Córdova. Completing the cast are actors Fermí Reixach, Jorge Bosch, Carolina Lapausa, Goizalde Núñez and Juan Codina.
The first delivery, Zipi and Zape and the Marble Club, also directed by Oskar Santos, was the highest-grossing Spanish film of 2013 and achieved great success at international festivals.
In this new installment, Zipi and Zape make a mess of it again. This time the prank is so great that they are punished without vacations and forced to accompany their parents on what appears to be a boring boat trip. To their surprise, the destination is a spectacular and remote island. A terrible storm forces them to take refuge in the mansion of the fun Miss Pam, where children without families enjoy a paradise without rules. Helped by Pipi, Maqui and Flequi, the brothers discover that the sudden disappearance of their parents in the middle of the night is related to the secret held by the mysterious island and its strange inhabitants.
According to its director, Oskar Santos, the film "is an evolution of the first installment but with a totally different story. There are new adventures, new characters, new villains and a new challenge. The film talks about the family, the eternal conflict between parents and children and both of them are going to see themselves reflected and, above all, they are going to have a great time."
The film was shot in Hungary and the Basque Country last summer. Buena Vista International distributes the film in Spain and Film Factory Entertainment is in charge of international sales.
