The Government ratifies the Barcelona Mobile World Capital Agreement
The Executive extends the tax incentive program that technology companies will benefit from through the 4YFN (Four Years From Now) initiative, and will serve to increase programs for Spanish entrepreneurs in the ICT sector.
Last Friday, the Council of Ministers approved an Agreement ratifying the provisional authorization for the subscription of the addendum to the Collaboration Agreement between the General Administration of the State, the Generalitat of Catalonia, the Barcelona City Council and the Fundació Barcelona Mobile World Capital Foundation for the creation of the “Barcelona Mobile World Capital” Consortium and the approval of the Statutes.
Barcelona City Council, the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Government of Spain have made a joint effort that is now taking shape in the updating of an Agreement that includes the World Mobile Capital status as an event of exceptional public interest for the purposes of tax benefits.
The primary purpose is to attract private financing to this great project that is the World Mobile Capital of Barcelona, further promoting and promoting its success and its excellent benefits for our country.
The increase in private contributions will serve to support the entrepreneurship of technology companies through 4YFN (Four Years From Now), to finance a greater number of Spanish entrepreneurs and to carry out more activities that promote the internationalization of the Spanish technology sector.
The General State Administration, through the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, contributes 5 million annually to the Barcelona Mobile World Congress.
Spanish Pavilion at MWC 2016
The Spanish Pavilion at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona will host in its 2016 edition, which will be held from February 22 to 25, a total of 60 Spanish Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) companies, which will be able to present their products and come into contact with potential clients and investors.
The pavilion has an area of 650 square meters and is divided into a networking area and a large stand area, which brings together a total of 40 Spanish companies. In addition, another 20 companies will also use these facilities to publicize their offer.
The Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, through the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and the Information Society and Red.es, is responsible for the organization of this space, which has been present at the MWC since 2006 and concentrates the latest trends in devices, applications and mobile content.
The subsectors to which the companies in the Spanish pavilion focus their activity are as diverse as telecommunications, cybersecurity, smart cities, software and applications, marketing, fintech, cloud, e-health or consulting.
