Sony Tecnology Days

Sony Professional The Sony Technology Days will be held on March 15 in Madrid and March 17 in Barcelona, a series of conferences and networking sessions in which aspects such as 4K and HDR production, new live infrastructures over IP with Networked Media Interface and new production workflows from capture to archive will be addressed.

4K UHD offers four times the definition of Full HD and gorgeous color. 4K images are sharper, even when converted and delivered in HD. They are perfect for connecting with the audience and differentiating the content. Thanks to high dynamic range (HDR), every pixel shines brightly and deep black levels reveal even more realistic images. 4K capture adds real value, offering more flexible distribution options as well as significant revenue opportunities.

Sergi Sendra, director of TV production at Dorna Sports at the MotoGP British GP, says that “by shooting in HDR and HFR, we were able to capture incredibly detailed 4K images that offered a visual experience with all the color and emotion that spectators at the circuit enjoyed.”

As for IP, it brings with it advantages over SDI in today's live production arena. There is now a range of products based on Sony's high-performance Networked Media Interface. These enable the introduction of live IP into SDI-based infrastructures progressively and with minimal disruption.

Frederic Fievez, Special Projects Manager at BCE, maintains that “Sony was one of the few companies that was already at the beginning of a solution for video over IP when we began our plans for the new BCE building in Luxembourg, based on IP technology.”

Regarding workflows. The right content in the right place at the right time means faster business return. It is the key to achieving attractive content during broadcasts, with greater creative flexibility and efficient use of resources.

Niall Duffy, Head of Workflow and IT Solutions at Sony Professional Solutions Europe, emphasizes that “an agile and integrated workflow is essential for world-class broadcasters who want to quickly produce and distribute brilliant and creative content.”

The conferences will take place at Sony Music in Madrid and at Televisió de Catalunya in Sant Joan Despí (Barcelona). To attend, prior registration is essential at this web.
