The TV Academy will design a circular set for the electoral debate
The venue chosen for the meeting between the four candidates for the presidency of the Government will be the Municipal Congress Palace of Madrid.
The Television Academy has advanced some details about the production of the four-way electoral debate between the candidates for the presidency of the Government Mariano Rajoy, Pedro Sánchez, Pablo Iglesias and Albert Rivera that will take place organized by the institution on June 13.
Manuel Campo Vidal, president of the Academy, has confirmed that Pedro Piqueras, Ana Blanco and Vicente Vallés will be in charge of moderating the Debate that will be broadcast by the main networks in our country. "Three academics, three colleagues from the profession and from the Academy. For us it is an honor, a pride and a guarantee that there will be an extraordinary result despite the complexities," he assured.
Campo Vidal has pointed out that "it is a huge satisfaction that the four parties with the most votes in the last elections have trusted the Television Academy as a neutral place to hold, once again, this historic Four-Way Debate. In agreement with the television stations and the political parties, we have to guarantee that the debate is balanced."
The co-director of Debate 2016, director Fernando Navarrete, has explained some technical details of the complexity of this event and has announced that the set will be circular and will not be white. “Due to the different characteristics of the Debate, it will not be a “director” program but rather a “production team” program.
The executive producer, Pepe Carbajo, has confirmed that the setting chosen for the meeting will be the Municipal Congress Palace of Madrid, capable of hosting an event of this magnitude and where the debates were already held in 2008 and 2011: "As there are four candidates, logistics and production are complicated. We have a more suitable space for the construction of the set and for all the dependencies that are needed for this event."
