Platinum Awards

Great stars of Ibero-American culture, among nominees, presenters and guests of the gala, will meet in Punta del Este (Uruguay) on Sunday, July 24 at the Platino Awards ceremony.

Among those who will take the stage to present some of the awards of this third edition are names such as Edward James Olmos, Eduardo Noriega, Jorge Perugorría, Paulina García, Joaquim de Almeida, Boris Izaguirre, Angie Cepeda, Natalia de Molina, Jencarlos Canela, Patricia Riggen, Reynaldo Pachedo, Diego Boneta, Antonio de la Torre, China Suárez, Hugo Silva, Adriana Barraza, Joaquín Furriel, Juan Carlos Arciniegas or Boris Izaguirre.

A high-level cast that covers all areas of cinematography: direction, script and acting and international recognition at festivals and award ceremonies such as the Oscars, the Goyas or the Ariels.

In the section of candidates to win one of the statuettes, it is worth highlighting the presence of some of the most popular faces on both sides of the Atlantic and who will demonstrate the power of the Ibero-American film industry: Javier Cámara, Inma Cuesta, Pablo Trapero, Damián Alcázar, Alfredo Castro, Antonia Zegers, Lucas Vidal, Federico Jusid, Alvaro Longoria, Jayro Bustamante, Mabel Lozano, Ciro Guerra or Gabriel Ripstein, They will join the rest of the teams from the nominated fiction, documentary and animation films and the brand new Platinum of Honor, Ricardo Darín, who in this edition also aspires to win the award for Best Actor.

The ceremony will also feature a trio of exceptional presenters: the Mexican showman, actor and producer Adal Ramones, the versatile Uruguayan actress and singer Natalia Oreiro and one of the greatest international exponents of comedy in Spain, the actor, director and producer Santiago Segura.

Feature films with the most nominations

The feature films that aspire to the greatest number of awards are The embrace of the snake, by Ciro Guerra and Ixcanul, by Jayro Bustamante, both nominated in 8 sections and The club, by Pablo Larraín and The clan, by Pablo Trapero, present in 6 categories.

The Platino Awards will also serve to inaugurate the Punta del Este Convention Center, in a gala that the Government of Uruguay has declared of tourist and cultural interest.
