DVB demostrará en IBC las posibilidades de la nueva tecnología DVB-S2X y el protocolo SAT>IP

In a live demonstration, a DVB-T2 signal will be converted to Internet Protocol using a server built into the television itself.

At IBC 2016, DVB will showcase the work it is carrying out to standardize the delivery of high-quality content via satellite more efficiently to all IP devices in the home. It will also demonstrate the advantages that the innovative DVB-S2X technology will bring.

As tablets and smartphones gain popularity in terms of the consumption of live television broadcasting, DVB has prepared to offer a technical solution that allows these devices to be reached in optimal conditions. In a live demonstration, a DVB-T2 signal will be converted to Internet Protocol using a server built into the television itself. The signal will then be transmitted to the IP client devices.

Sobre la base del protocolo de comunicaciones SAT>IP para pasar una señal broadcast satelital en directo satélite a redes IP, las señales de emisión DVB se pueden ahora encapsular en IP en el punto de recepción en un servidor IP. Efectivamente estos servidores IP añaden una capa de transporte IP al tiempo que informa a los diferentes clientes sobre los servicios disponibles. En principio se puede aplicar a toda la familia de plataformas de primera y segunda generación de transmisión DVB (DVB-T/T2, DVB-S/S2/S2X, DVB-C/C2) y las transmisiones de IPTV administradas. A critical step for the introduction of DVB-S2X for DTH is to have efficient, low-cost DVBV-S2X chips. The industry has been working at full speed to develop the necessary consumer technology. Now, DVB-S2X chipsets in consumer products are in the prototype phase and are expected to hit the market shortly. This will allow operators to use DVB-S2X also for DTH, including, most likely, for the delivery of Ultra High Definition services.
