The UHK-430 4K camcorder, the HDL-F3000 'ultra-low-light' multi-format camera, the 311-inch 4K monitor HQLM-3120W and the MCP-300 master network control panel, Ikegami's main proposals for IBC 2016.

Ikegami UHK-430

Ultra High Definition will focus the presence of Ikegami in the next edition of IBC. Among other new features, the 2/3-inch native 4K camcorder, UHK-430, and the 31-inch 4K monitor HQLM-3120W will make their debut at this fair. Also on display will be the new HDL-F3000 multi-format camera, designed to work in low light conditions, and the new MCP-300 network main control panel.

As for the Ikegami UHK-430 portable camcorder, it incorporates three native 2/3-inch 4K CMOS sensors with 8 megapixels that provide a total of 3840 x 2160 pixels of UHD resolution, with an ideal depth of field for both studio and outdoor production. It also achieves a color depth of 10 bits per pixel instead of the usual 8 bits per pixel. The UHK-430 features a 2/3-inch high-definition lens-compatible mount with B4 bayonet.

Designed in two pieces allows the sensor head and lens to detach as a compact unit for easy deployment into supporting devices. In this mode, the head can be operated from up to 50 meters from the camera body. Support peripherals already available or planned in the immediate future include a high frame rate head, a 35mm Super 4K, new operational control panels, viewers and various base station configurations.

At the heart of the UHK-430 we find the new processor, Axia, which reduces power consumption and offers advantages such as 16-axis color correction and a new focus assist for 4K. Axia also incorporates i-Log Ikegami processing, which delivers high contrast for a wider dynamic range. Also noteworthy is that the camera supports the ITU-R BT.2020 expanded color space specification in 4K mode while BT.709 is supported in HD and 4K modes.

Viewers Ikegami has planned for the UHK-430 include a 7.4-inch OLED (VFE741D), a 7-inch 1920 x 1080 LCD (VFL701D), and a 2-inch laptop LCD (VFL201D). All three include a serial digital interface to the camera and integrated menu control in the viewfinder itself.

The camera control unit accompanying this camera is the Ikegami CCU-430 which allows easy migration from HD to 4K for live production. Features include a switchable 4 x 3G-SDI 4K output as well as HD output. The option to work in 12G-SDI and IP-video will be introduced in the coming months.

Ikegami HQLM-3120W

Monitor 4K HQLM-3120W

Also worth highlighting from Ikegami's presence at IBC is the premiere of the HQLM-3120W unit, a reference 4K monitor designed for television studios, broadcast and production controls and post-production rooms.

It has a 31.1-inch backlit LED panel processing depth at resolutions of 4096 x 2160 and 10 bits. A wide viewing angle enables analysis of critical content within horizontal and vertical viewing angles of up to 178 degrees.

Other performance parameters include high contrast ratio (1450:1) and wide color gamut, in compliance with the ITU-R BT.2020 standard specified for program production for international program broadcast and distribution.

A 4K signal source can be connected to the HQLM-3120W via four 3G-SDI inputs. It also has 12G-SDI 4K inputs, as well as a 3G/HD-SDI input and an HDMI input. A USB port and stereo headphone output minijack are located on the front panel.

In addition to its image observation capabilities, the HQLM-3120W is equipped to function as a waveform monitor and vectorscope. It can also display vertical interval timecode, SDI embedded audio level of channels and subtitles.

Ikegami HDL-F3000

Multi-format camera

Ikegami has chosen IBC 2016 as the launch venue for its new HDL-F3000 multi-format camera specially designed to achieve excellent response in low light conditions. Its image adjustment capabilities include dehazing, backlight correction, and digital zoom.

The camera body compacts 100x123x80 mm and weighs only 1 kilo, making it ideal for a wide range of applications such as use in gyroscopes. It uses three 2/3 MOS sensors that achieve 2.6 million pixels, achieving 1,000 lines of horizontal television resolution in RGB prism configuration.

Its minimum illumination level in standard operating mode is 0.0068 lux with a signal delivery of 64 dB in formats 1080 / 59.94i, 1080 / 50i, 1080 / 29.97PsF, 1080 / 25PsF, 720 / 59.94p, 720 / 50p. With the frame accumulation function it is possible to achieve a sensitivity of 0.000057 lux. Integration times can be selected across an 11-position range from 2 seconds to 1/30 seconds. This solution includes a BTA S-1005B detachable lens.

The HDL-F3000 powers a compact control unit measuring 120x105x180 mm and weighing 1.5 kilos. This provides access to a wide range of features including a motorized optical neutral density filter (100/25/6.2/1.6%), electric color filter (3200/4300/6300/8000K), adjustable gain (72 dB below – 6 dB), adjustable gamma (off/0.35/0.4/0.45) and digital zoom from X1.1 to x10. Shutter speed can be selected in eight increments of 1/100 and 1/10000.

Panel MCP-300

Finally, highlight the presence at the Ikegami stand at IBC of the MCP-300 master control panel conceived as a conventional Ikegami Arcnet or Ethernet ICCP control. This panel allows master control of up to ten cameras, being able to select up to 10x10 groups. The MCP-300 also supports Power over Ethernet, so an external power supply is not necessary.

Coinciding with IBC, the company founded in September 1946, will celebrate its 70th anniversary.
