Samsung Electronics is willing to improve the premium viewing experience on its televisions through collaboration with new European content providers in Ultra High Definition (UHD) and High Dynamic Range (HDR). Consumers will be able to enjoy new programming from providers such as Amazon, Netflix and other local platforms, with the best image quality on all 2016 Samsung UHD and SUHD televisions. All models in these series are compatible with HDR technology designed to improve the contrast of dark areas and differentiate colors in bright areas.

WonJin LEE, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display division at Samsung Electronics, says that "this new UHD and HDR content will debut in the European market in the coming months. We are very excited to be able to offer consumers their favorite shows and movies with the best image quality."

Samsung has partnered with global leaders in content delivery such as Amazon and Netflix. For its part, Samsung has expanded its collaboration with them to offer more HDR content to European subscribers. Amazon was the first to launch HDR content on Samsung TVs and titles currently available on the platform include award-winning and popular Amazon original series such as Transparent, The Man in the High Castle y Mozart in the Jungle. For its part, since the beginning of the year, Netflix has offered series and titles such as Marco Polo, The Do-Over by Adam Sandler and The Ridiculous Six. European consumers can enjoy these titles in HDR quality with the Amazon Video app and the Netflix app available on Samsung SUHD Quantum Dot TVs, designed to provide more than 300 hours of HDR programming by the end of the year.

Several European content providers will also debut with HDR quality programming, as well as newly created UHD channels and content. Arte and Sky will announce new UHD services in the European market this year and Insight TV and RTVE will launch their new HDR and UHD services. Samsung's current partners Chili, Infinity and Videoload will expand their UHD services to include HDR early next year.

Samsung is leading the proliferation of HDR technology through the launch of Samsung SUHD Quantum dot TVs, which produce UHD and HDR content at their highest quality. The technology has been instrumental in vast improvements in brightness, color and contrast across the television industry.
