Eutelsat becomes a shareholder in V-Nova
Both companies had worked closely to provide Ultra HD services in the final phase of Euro 2016 in collaboration with the Italian operator RAI.
V-Nova, created less than two years ago and promoter of the Perseus compression solution, has received great support from the satellite operator Eutelsat by entering as a minority in its capital.
Eutelsat sees this move as a way to boost its video competencies through a partnership with this specialized compression company whose products can facilitate the broadcast operator's transition to HD and Ultra HD for a better viewing experience. The companies had worked closely to provide Ultra HD services at the Euro 2016 finals with Italian operator RAI.
According to Julien Seligmann, executive vice president of global video services at Eutelsa, "by partnering with V-Nova, we are increasing our competencies in the broadcast chain and, more specifically, we are increasing our technological advancement by enriching the end-user experience for broadcast operator clients.
