Best Conference Paper Award en IBC 2016.

The work titled WIB – A New System Concept for Digital Terrestrial Television prepared by Erik Stare, from Teracom in Stockholm; Jordi Giménez from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV); y Peter Klenner de Panasonic Europa, based in Frankfurt, has been recognized with the Best Conference Paper Award at IBC 2016.

The jury that carefully analyzes all the research papers presented always takes into account the novelty of its approach and its significant contribution to the industry, in addition to a clear, informative and attractive presentation.

Nick Lodge, president of the selection committee for the technical papers presented at IBC, has assured that "our choice this year has been a paper that addresses a topic that some thought was in its final cycle, but that in reality revitalizes the entire topic of terrestrial broadcasting. What these researchers propose is a way to achieve greater digital bandwidth, a more efficient use of the spectrum and a huge reduction in energy consumption. It is a truly innovative paper and, truly, very exciting."

Erik Stare, upon hearing the jury's verdict and representing his colleagues, stressed that "this document gives new life to digital terrestrial transmission when many predicted its disappearance. I am especially happy for the recognition of the work on new trends in the development of DTT."
