Multinacionales como Dolby (EE.UU.), Sony (Japón), Ericsson (Suecia), Nokia (Finlandia) o Rohde&Schwarz (Alemania) han coincidido en enviar a sus principales expertos en 4K-UHD y HDR, todos ellos británicos, para compartir sus avances y novedades con los profesionales y directivos de más de 20 países que acudirán a la 4KSummit’16.

Seville 4K Summit

Five “top engineers” from Great Britain, from different multinationals and experts in 4K-Ultra High Definition (UHD) and HDR, will participate as “speakers” in the 4K Summit, putting a strong “British” accent to this international summit that will take place on November 10 and 11 in Seville. and that has Panorama Audiovisual as Main Media Partner.

The American multinational Dolby has decided to send Jason Power, an Emmy winner, to be its representative at the 4K Summit'16. Jason Power has previously worked for EBU and DVB, and in 2006 he won Dolby an Emmy Award for his contribution to the integration of surround sound into television. In addition, Dolby will bring to its workshop the latest that it presented a few weeks ago at the IBC in Amsterdam. In his workshop he will do a demonstration with 3 monitors comparing side by side the HLG, PQ and Dolby Vision curves. It will also show on 2 other monitors how a signal filmed in SDR looks like in HDR, and vice versa.

Sony has chosen Peter Sykes, its director of strategic development in Europe, as its representative at the 4K Summit'16. Peter Sykes is one of the most relevant speakers on UHD at MipCom'16, which is being held these days in Cannes (France), the largest content fair in the world, with more than 15,000 attendees. Sony will also set up a workshop at 4KSummit'16 to show its latest developments.

Por su parte, la multinacional sueca Ericsson ha comisionado a su ingeniero Mark Horton. Horton es el director de Estrategia, Codificación y Compresión de Ericsson y es reconocido por sus charlas y conferencias sobre HDR. Mark Horton es uno de los grandes expertos a nivel mundial sobre la UHD y sus conferencias son muy solicitadas en todos los foros. Además, en una keynote el viernes 11, Mark Horton presentará los objetivos principales del Forum mundial de la Ultra Alta Definición, al que representará en la 4KSummit’16.

En cuanto a la alemana Rohde & Schwarz ha encargado a un “top” ingeniero británico, David Smith, la presentación de sus últimos avances en la Ultra Alta Definición (UHD) y, especialmente, en el HDR, los workflows 4K y los encoders HEVC. Rohde&Schwarz tendrá en la 4KSummit’16 un taller para mostrar sus últimos productos.

And finally, the Finnish Nokia has decided that another English engineer, Benjamin Niven-Jenkins, who is their chief video architect, will represent them at the 4KSummit'16. Ben Niven-Jenkins previously worked for British Telecom as head of video, and is now head of the Cloud DVR programme. He is an expert in advertising insertion and personalized video topics. In addition, Nokia will set up a UHD and VR demo at the Summit and will go to Seville with a team of 12 engineers.

Having these speakers at the 4K Summit'16 fulfills one of the objectives of this international summit: bringing together the best speakers worldwide on Ultra High Definition (UHD) technology and content for two days.
