The Animation, Visual Effects and Video Games Film Festival will take place at CaixaForum Madrid on December 16 and 17 with the presence of the most prominent international specialists in animation, visual effects and video games.

The XI Animayo International Festival lands in Madrid on December 16 and 17, from Los Angeles, where it held its own event at one of the most important schools in the world, Los Angeles Film School, in addition to projecting its achievements at studios such as Walt Disney Animation, Dreamworks Animation and Sony Pictures Animation.

Animayo Madrid is a production made in collaboration with U-tad and Obra Social La Caixa and will be held at Caixa Forum Madrid on December 16 and 17. It will do so alongside big stars, animation, visual effects and international video game schools and studios. A unique event in which you can participate in numerous artistic manifestations, multi-platform creative environments, projections and the latest news and advances in the audiovisual sector: Master Classes, presentations, workshops, projections of Animayo's achievements, premieres, virtual reality spaces and a forum for professionals, will make up the program of Animayo Madrid 2016. Activities aimed at an audience of all ages, professionals and amateurs.

Animayo Madrid 2016 will feature some of the most prominent and recognized specialists in animation, visual effects and video games, digital creators and illustrators of recognized international prestige who have worked and work for large companies such as Borja Montoro, character designer in films such as Zootopia, Wreck-It Ralph, Nocturna, The Emperor and His Follies, Tarzan, Hercules, Asterix and the Vikings, The Aristocats II as well as in the Disney movie that premieres this week Vaiana; Juan Luis Sánchez, Character FX Lead in films like Gravity, Paddington, The Dark Knight, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Pirates of the Caribbean, Babe the Brave Pig o Star Wars episodes II and III); Paulo Alvarado from Rovio Entertainment who has worked in video game development such as Angry Birds, Jolly Jam, Bad Piggies, Amazing Alex, The Croods y Love Rocks; Rafael Zabala, Traditional and Digital Artist en The Mill- Weta Digital- Psyop (League of Legends, The Hobbit, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Ironman 3…); José Antonio Rodríguez, who has worked in films such as Once upon a time... A story in reverse, Mortadelo and Filemón against Jimmy the horny, Defensor 5 o Planet 51) and Edgar Martín Blas, CEO at New Horizons VR and pioneer of virtual reality and developments with Oculus Rift applied to marketing projects).

During the festival, the Official Animayo 2016 Awards will be screened, which will bring together the Animayo awards for animation, visual effects and video games of this edition. The program also includes the premiere in Madrid of the Czech film “Mortal Stories” by Jan Bubeníček, and a special of Slovak cinema made by women.

The Animayo Madrid workshop section will include: Character Design Workshop taught by Borja Montoro, Master Class with live demo and workshop on new forms of video creation with 3D fractal techniques taught by Patryk Kyzny, intensive Zbrush workshop taught by Rafael Zabala, and a robotics workshop for children and parents.
