RCN in Colombia installs two Lawo mc²36 consoles in its studios
Coinciding with the renovation of the facilities of its all-news channel, Radio Cadena Nacional now has a main console with 40 faders and another redundant one, with 24.
Radio Cadena Nacional (RCN) of Colombia has installed two Lawo mc²36 mixing consoles. These tables have been allocated to RCN News (NTN24), its 24-hour all-news channel. The main console is a 40-fader mc²36, supported by a 24-fader mc²36 surface for redundancy. The complete system includes a Dallis interface with SDI I/O and GPIO cards to handle the necessary AfV (Audio-follow-Video) functions that will allow some processes to be automated.
Andrés Galeano, technical director at RCN, considers that "the two mc²36 consoles are the perfect solution for a 24/7 broadcasting challenge. In addition, the benefits for automation are worth highlighting thanks to the AfV for multivideo sources and the mxGUI control software. In addition, the remote diagnosis through the web browser was a pleasant surprise."
Thanks to this project, RCN will improve its operations with great flexibility in the workflows of remote control facilities, automation and advanced AfV and Automix functionality.
Furthermore, according to the technical direction of the Colombian broadcaster, the functions of the consoles, the audio quality, the customization and its great flexibility were also key aspects when choosing Lawo.
