The independent Cinéma Bellevaux theater reopens its doors with the Lawo mc²36
The mixing console Theirs mc²36 brings digital technology to Bellevaux Cinema, a space dedicated to cinema, music and performing arts in Lausanne (Switzerland).
Gwenaël Grossfeld, owner of this room 80 seats inaugurated in 1959, took advantage of the downtime caused by Covid-19 to make technical improvements. Grossfeld needed “a digital audio console that could control the theater's 22-speaker audio system, and that could also accommodate many audio sources.” However, to date I had not used a digital console.
Close references and support from the Swiss integrator SLG Broadcast led him to opt for mc²36 of 16 faders, a “very intuitive to use” table compatible with the system d&b Soundscape. The mc²36 presents among its main features an I/O capacity of 864 channels, up to 256 channels of audio processing and native compatibility with ST2110, AES67, Ravenna and Ember+. The installation would be completed with two I/O units A__mic8 of Lawo.
The owner of the theater is completely satisfied with the acquisition: "Our goal is for cinema to stop being an art on screen with musical support and become an immersive experience of film, lighting, sounds and music in a single place. Lawo and SLG understood our objectives and found the appropriate solutions."
“Ironically we had to postpone our reopening until October, but not because of sound problems: the delivery of the screen, among other things, was delayed!” Grossfeld concludes.
