Authorizes aid for the production of short films made and aid for the production of short films on projects.

The Council of Ministers last Friday, at the proposal of the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Íñigo Méndez de Vigo, has authorized the exception to the application of the Budget Closure Order to the calls for the second phase of aid for the production of short films made and aid for the production of projected short films.

The allocations to be granted are the following: 650,000 euros for aid for short films on projects and 128,796.33 euros for the second phase of aid for short films made.

On the other hand, by Resolution of the General Directorate of the ICAA, of July 27, 2016, the first phase of the line of aid for short films made was already resolved, granting aid for a total amount of 146,203.67.

The General Directorate of the ICAA issued a resolution on April 18, 2016, by which aid was called for the production of projected and completed short films, and established a budget allocation for them of 1 million euros, distributed as follows: 700,000 euros for aid for projected short films and 300,000 euros for aid for realized short films.

However, the Agreement of the Council of Ministers, dated April 29, 2016, on the non-availability of credits in the amount of 2,000 million euros, approved in order to guarantee compliance with the fiscal consolidation commitments with the European Union, affected certain lines of aid that had been called by the ICAA and, among them, the call for aid for the production of short films, on projects and completed films, the total amount of which was reduced by 75,000 euros, leaving the allocation allocated to the projects at 650,000 euros and that allocated to those carried out at 275,000 euros.
