Canal Sur premieres 'El Carnaval de Cádiz: The Movie', shot by Medina Media in 4K

This documentary film has been recorded using 4K Sony PXW-FS7 cameras at 50 frames per second.

Canal Sur TV premieres the documentary feature film today, Monday, January 9, in Prime Time hours The Carnival of Cádiz: The Movie. Produced by Medina Media, it will serve as the starting signal for the Andalusian public television programming for the new season of the Cádiz 2017 carnival.

Modesto Barragán and Manolo Casal will be in charge of presenting this film, as well as the carnival programming for this new season.

This documentary has been recorded in Ultra High Definition (UHD), the highest audiovisual technology. In this way, the chain has chosen this year to start its Carnival programming with a work that highlights the aesthetic quality of this event, considered of International Tourist Interest.

The Carnival of Cádiz: The Movie It makes a portrait of how the Carnival of Cádiz is experienced on the street and has the participation of José Guerrero “El Yuyu”. This renowned carnival attendant and presenter is in charge of leading and bringing this party closer to the viewer.

Historical recording

For the first time in history, the final of the Falla Theater Groups competition and the Street Carnival have been recorded using 4K Sony PXW-FS7 cameras and Canon 70x200mm optics with a duplicator and at 50 frames per second (twice the standard used in HD television), which has achieved a quality 4 times higher than High Definition.

The project has materialized in a 90-minute documentary film in which this festival is portrayed in its natural setting (the street), for which the filming team traveled to Cádiz for 10 consecutive days.

The objective of this innovative and technological effort by Canal Sur is that in the future, both the Cádiz day carnival and the Contest can be enjoyed worldwide on satellite channels, DTTs, fiber optics and any type of digital platforms that broadcast on any type of support (tablets, phones and other mobile devices) without limitations and always with the highest quality.

The Carnival of Cádiz: The Movie It is the first chapter of the trilogy produced in 4K by Medina Media of the main festivals in Andalusia, which is completed with Holy Week and El Rocío, which will also be broadcast in 2017 on Canal Sur TV.
