Myers comes from Grass Valley and will now take the reins of Snell Advanced Media's growing portfolio of IP solutions.

Snell Advanced Media (SAM) has decided that Phil Myers will now lead its range of IP solutions.

Myers has over twenty years of experience in product management and business development and has held various technology leadership roles within the industry, most recently for Grass Valley in the EMEA region, where he was responsible for architecting digital media workflows and IP solutions. He previously worked at CVP Group, Pinnacle Systems and Sony and co-founded Oddfish films in 1997.

The executive has been "delighted to be joining SAM at this time. I have witnessed first-hand the excitement that SAM has generated in the market and I am eager to contribute my experience and background to help further develop SAM's attractive proposition in IP. This is an exciting time in the industry and in particular for SAM and I am looking forward to attending NAB in my new role."

Over the last two years there has been significant investment in expanding SAM's portfolio with an ambitious range of new products. For the company, IP is a cornerstone of the Live Production and Playout offering, with additional investments that will continue over time.

Robert Szabo-Rowe, executive director of live production and infrastructure, acknowledges that it is an achievement that “we have secured someone of Phil's caliber to lead our range of IP products and we have no doubt that he will make a significant contribution in this area.”
