The first edition of the Barcelona-Sant Jordi International Film Festival (BCN Film Fest) will open on Friday the 21st with an official section made up of thirteen international titles.

From April 21 to 28, the Cines Verdi will host the first edition of the Barcelona International Film Festival – Sant Jordi (BCN Film Fest), which will collect international titles that fit into the triangle between cinema, history and literature. The official section is made up of thirteen films, twelve of them in competition. Of the twelve films competing, ten of them are Spanish premieres and one of them, Churchill, it's a world premiere.

The Official Section begins on Friday with the Spanish premiere of the Australian film Tanna, which achieved an Oscar nomination this year in the category of Best Foreign Language Film.

ChurchillThe film director Claudia Llosa, the television producer, journalist and history enthusiast Toni Soler and the renowned writer Chufo Lloréns make up the festival jury. The three members of the Jury will be in charge of awarding the Jury Prize for the Best Film in the Official Section, for which twelve titles will compete. In addition, the Official Section will also have the ACCEC Critics' Award for Best Film, whose jury will be made up of: Alfons Gorina (Catalunya Ràdio), Mònica Jordan (El Videodromo) and F. Javier Gutiérrez (Cine de Patio).
