It offers 24 input channels, legendary signal processing from Lexicon, Dbx and DigiTech, intuitive wireless control and integration with other systems in the Harman Connected PA family.

Soundcraft Ui24R

Harman has announced the launch of the new Soundcraft Ui24R, a complete digital multitrack recording and mixing system that offers flexible inputs and outputs, impeccable sound quality, intuitive wireless control and tour-proof reliability. All this in an optimized design.

The system can be controlled by up to 10 devices via Ethernet or via integrated dual-band Wi-Fi, allowing you to control multitrack mixing and recording wirelessly. Renowned signal processing from Lexicon, dbx and DigiTech ensures crystal-clear sound quality, while 20 Studer-designed mic preamps deliver more professional inputs than any other mixer in its class.

The compact, rack-mountable Ui24R is part of the new ecosystem of Harman Connected PA products (also recently launched) and offers unprecedented control, versatility and power, at an incredible cost.

Scott Wood, director of mixing solutions at Harman, said: "The Soundcraft Ui24R multitrack recording and mixing system offers the power and capabilities of a large format console, in a compact and practical solution. High-quality technology and components, including the famous Lexicon, dbx and DigiTech signal processing, as well as Studer preamps, provide incredible results for rehearsals, performances, recording and more. Whether for live or in the studio, the Ui24R is the ultimate system for artists, venue owners and engineers who need to save space and deliver superior sound.”

The Ui24R offers 24 input channels, including 10 combo/XLR, 10 XLR, 2 line level and 2 digital mixing channels, resulting in a total of 24 simultaneous inputs. Studer's famous preamps offer richer, more detailed sound for multitrack recording and live performance applications. In turn, Lexicon's iconic effects (reverbs, choruses and delays), as well as Dbx compression, provide polished results for vocals, acoustic guitars and other sounds. Dbx's AFS2 automatic feedback suppression is available on all monitor outputs, providing an excellent live experience. Additionally, two channels of DigiTech guitar and amp modeling add a suite of effects to any performance or recording, which are of particular interest when you need to work at low volumes.

Redefining the mixing experience

The Ui24R redefines the live mixing experience, giving engineers the freedom to control mixes from anywhere in the room. Up to 10 devices can be connected simultaneously via dual-band Wi-Fi, so musicians can fine-tune their individual mix on stage while PA technicians optimize the room's sound. Thanks to HTML5 support, the system can be controlled from any modern web browser, including iOS, Android, Windows, Mac OS and Linux devices, without installing any apps.

The Ui24R allows technicians and musicians to double record their stereo mix as well as the 22 multitrack inputs directly to a USB flash drive and a computer connected to the system. The Ui24R is also ideal for being the heart of a home multitrack recording studio, thanks to its easy integration via its USB interface with any DAW system.

The Soundcraft Ui24R system is part of the Harman Connected PA family of products and offers full compatibility with the new Ui24R app (available Q2 2017) for easy control, quick setup and better quality results. The Connected PA app eliminates the need for multiple apps or graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and offers seamless plug-and-play operation with a wide variety of Harman equipment, so users can control their entire PA system with a single app. Products in the Connected PA ecosystem self-identify with the new app, making setup effortless. Likewise, the settings assistant helps users optimize the volume and other parameters quickly, all of which has an impact on sound quality.
