Sony expands its DWX series with a new digital wireless microphone system

It provides high-quality sound with low audio latency of 1.2 ms and reliable operation by using high dynamic range RF circuitry and 4 diversity antennas.

Sony has announced at IBC a new next-generation digital wireless microphone system. The latest DWX series provides high quality sound with low audio latency of 1.2ms and reliable operation by using high dynamic range RF circuitry and 4 diversity antennas. In addition, it is compatible with Dante, a digital audio technology over IP networks.

Based on the DWX-N series, the new third-generation system includes the DWT-B03R digital wireless transmitter, DWR-R03D digital wireless receiver, BC-DWX1 battery charger and ECM-77LM Electret condenser microphone.

The next-generation wireless microphone system is scheduled for release in spring 2018.

• DWR-R03D: The 1U broadband 2-channel rack-mount receiver comes equipped with Dante, a digital audio technology over IP networks. It supports headphone monitoring and redundancy, as well as multi-channel network audio. Accompanied by a high dynamic range RF circuit with excellent input characteristics to ensure great reception performance and operation of 4 diversity antennas, the digital wireless receiver achieves great transmission stability and reliability. Wireless studio software is compatible with DWR-R03D and BC-DWX
• BC-DWX1: The battery charger for DWT-B03R and NP-BX1 includes PoE (Power over Ethernet) capabilities. Users can monitor charging status via PC software, plus charge up to two bodypack transmitters or two batteries at a time. The interlocking mechanism allows for easy integration for storage and transportation.
• ECM-77LM: The most recent addition, the ECM-77LM Miniature Omnidirectional Electret Condenser Microphone, now uses the small 3-pin connector. Provides wide frequency response, high sensitivity and low noise.
