Xtream offers totally intuitive, tactile control, without the need for a mouse, and with tabs or drop-down menus.

In response to a demand from advertising and television post-production companies, Fairlight Xtream has just launched. A new touch control surface for the Xstream, a new touch, ultra-compact desktop control surface for the Fairlight CC-1 media motor.

For the first time we will be able to see this control surface at the AES convention in San Francisco from October 27 to 29.

Xtream offers totally intuitive, tactile control, without the need for a mouse, and with tabs or drop-down menus. With labelable buttons it is possible in just a few steps to act with the appropriate commands.

With integrated control over Fairlight's iCan network it allows audio engineers to design buttons for specialized functions with greater accessibility. This technology allows easy modification of the layout of key functions as well as allowing the controller to be used with other applications. Up to 24 faders can also be added in blocks of six to enhance the Xstream's mixing capabilities.

The Xstream control surface at just 17” includes QWERTY naming functionality, while enabling advanced macro control development.

Xstream will facilitate integrated editing efficiency with SD/HD video, mixing, plug-ins, file transfer and recording… all in one system. For its part, the powerful CC-1 media engine can be configured with up to 192 recording tracks, 230 mixing channels and 2 HD video tracks for 3D work. Xtream supports up to 256 audio inputs and outputs, built-in EQ and dynamics for each channel, full VST plug-in integration, and mixing multiple bus destinations in up to 7.1.
