Sony He has updated the firmware of some of his professional monitors. Update to firmware version 2 offers new improvements for filming, cinematography, broadcasting and graphics applications, such as the new ITU-R BT.2020, Adobe RGB color spaces and much more. The applicable models are the OLED HD TRIMASTER viewers (PVM-A250/A170) and the LCD HD production monitors (LMD-A240/A220/A170).

As a novelty, the new LMD-B240 stands out, a 23’8 ″ LCD Full HD Basic, with a thin and light housing for a simple installation with natural ventilation (without cooling fan). The monitor has two HD-SDI, a composite entrance and another HDMI, as well as HD and SD formats, different frame frequencies, intertwined, PSF and progressive modes. The monitor uses the same video processing as the PVM-A series, which provides similar accuracy and low video latency. He also shares the same user interface with an exclusive side side function without synchronization.

The LMD-B240 offers SDI and HDMI configurations unique side by independent synchronization side, which allows them to be shown in the same HD formats monitor, SD, with different frame frequencies, intertwined, PSF and progressive. The LMD-B series monitors are an affordable and versatile solution for a wide variety of professional applications, including CC operation and wall assembly. The monitor has a user restoration function and includes stereo speakers oriented forward and sound silencer function. In addition, the LMD-B240 includes a natural ventilation system that eliminates any acoustic interference from internal cooling fans and that makes this monitor the ideal solution for critical tasks of video and audio recording.

The 23.8 ″ LMD LCD panel is suitable for a wide variety of applications: on a desk, mounted on a wall or an arm, or for outdoor recording. The monitor can be mounted on a rack thanks to the Rack MB-L22 assembly support and supplied with a LMD-A type support. The Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) is an approximately 200 % resolution than Wide-XGA (1366 x 768 or 1280 x 768), which offers a clear approach for pixel to pixel check of a pixel video without scale.
