Among the new features, the LMD-B240 monitor stands out, which, with a 23.8″ IPS LCD panel, is ideal for a wide variety of applications.

Sony LMD-B240

Sony has updated the firmware of some of its professional monitors. The firmware version 2 update delivers new enhancements for filmmaking, cinematography, broadcast and graphics applications, including the new ITU-R BT.2020, Adobe RGB color spaces, and more. Applicable models are TRIMASTER EL HD OLED viewing monitors (PVM-A250/A170) and HD LCD production monitors (LMD-A240/A220/A170).

As a novelty, the new LMD-B240 stands out, a basic 23'8″ Full HD LCD production monitor, with a thin and light case for easy installation with natural ventilation (without a cooling fan). The monitor has two HD-SDI, one composite input and one HDMI input, as well as HD and SD formats, different frame rates, interlacing, PsF and progressive modes. The monitor uses the same video processing as the PVM-A series, providing similar accuracy and low video latency. It also shares the same user interface with a unique side-by-side no-sync feature.

The LMD-B240 offers unique side-by-side independent sync SDI and HDMI configurations, allowing HD, SD, different frame rates, interlaced, PsF and progressive formats to be displayed on the same monitor. The LMD-B series monitors are an affordable and versatile solution for a wide variety of professional applications, including DC operation and wall mounting. The monitor has a user reset function and includes forward-facing stereo speakers and a sound mute function. Additionally, the LMD-B240 includes a natural ventilation system that eliminates any acoustic interference from internal cooling fans, making this monitor the ideal solution for critical video and audio recording tasks.

The LMD's 23.8″ IPS LCD panel is ideal for a wide variety of applications: on a desk, mounted on a wall or arm, or for outdoor recording. The monitor can be mounted in a rack thanks to the MB-L22 rack mounting bracket and is supplied with an LMD-A type bracket. Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) is approximately 200% higher resolution than Wide-XGA (1366 x 768 or 1280 x 768), providing a sharp focus for pixel-by-pixel checking of full HD video without scaling.
