Qatar TV commissions Lawo with audio, video and control infrastructure solutions for its two new mobile units

The new mobiles, designed and integrated by Sony Professional Solutions MEA, will have, among other solutions, the mc²56 consoles and the Lawo virtual control system (VSM).

For years, Qatar TV has been a Lawo customer, using its systems both in its mobile units and in its new Broadcast Center in Doha, opened in 2012. Solutions provided for the studio complex include three mc²56 networked audio production consoles, with a central Nova73 HD router and VSM for overall control.

VSM Virtual Studio Manager is the perfect solution for managing production workflows, taking control of physical production hardware while providing a seamless transition from baseband to IP. VSM supports control protocols used by all major brands and models of video and audio routers, video and audio mixers, intercom systems, UMDs and multiviewers, blue equipment and other third-party devices.

A multifunction mixer

In the case of the Lawo mc²36 multifunction audio mixer it offers uncompromising sound quality features and Lawo quality microphone preamplifiers. A powerful DSP microprocessor with internal 512x512 port audio matrix and integrated I/O make this compact console ideal for installations with limited space, especially in mobile units where space and weight is always a critical factor. As it is natively equipped with RAVENNA/AES67 technology, the mc²36 console integrates seamlessly into IP infrastructures.

The A__madi4 high-quality Audio-to-IP interface for broadcast, live and installation applications is designed for the transport of analog and digital audio signals through IP network environments and for establishing IP-based audio networks. Based on RAVENNA technology, all Lawo A__line devices also support the AES67 audio-over-IP interoperability standard and come with VisCon__navigator (an intuitive software to easily configure audio and video streams on IP networks without the need for deep IT knowledge) as standard. In addition to four MADI interfaces, the Lawo A__madi4 also provides two RAVENNA/AES67 Ethernet ports and eight GPIOs.
