VOV transforms your audio infrastructure with IP solutions from Lawo

In 2020/2021, during the first phase of the project, VOV upgraded its facilities with two Lawo broadcasting consoles Ruby and two Crystal. Building on that success, the second phase, completed in 2023, was carried out by the installation of three consoles Diamond, three Crystal and two pairs of routing devices Power Core redundant. This deployment spans two key locations: Hanoi, where the system was expanded, and Danang, where a new studio facility was built from the ground up, further enhancing VOV's radio broadcast and production capabilities.

The console Diamond, with its native IP design, offers “seamless integration” with VOV's RAVENNA/AES67 network. Its highly customizable control surface allows VOV operators configure the system based on the unique needs of each studio, providing unmatched operational flexibility and scalability for future expansion. On the other hand, Crystal consoles, with their compact design, offer a reliable and high quality performance, which makes them adaptable to daily broadcast tasks.

At the heart of the broadcast system is a Ravenna AoIP network accompanied by Power Core routing devices, responsible for managing the complex routing requirements of the VOV network. Fully compatible with RAVENNA/AES67 standards, these solutions offer high channel capacity and flexible I/O options. Likewise, deploying redundant Power Core systems provides a greater recovery capacity, which allows VOV to maintain uninterrupted broadcast services, even in the event of hardware failures, guaranteeing high availability and reliability.

This configuration not only improve technical capabilities of VOV radio production, but also improves the operational efficiency general. The project was successfully implemented in close collaboration with Broadcast Communications International (BCI), the local trading company Emico and Lawo. BCI, a Singapore-based broadcast solutions provider, played a key role in the installation, managing around the 85% of the general configuration, including the installation of mixers and routers.
