EMG chooses Leader LV7300 multi-screen rasterizers for its new mobile units

The global provider of broadcast services EMG has opted for multi-screen raster waveform monitors from Leader, supplied by Thameside.TV, for integration into three new mobile units.

Paul Francis, Director of Engineering, notes that "Leader measurement instruments have been our preferred choice for almost 10 years. They have proven to be reliable, accurate and easy to handle. Many of the projects we work on are large, with sources sometimes exceeding 100 cameras. Accurate and repeatable monitoring of the video signal flow is vital to ensure exact correspondence of camera channels."

“The LV7300 rasterizers also ensure that the full dynamic range of video and audio available from source to output is maintained,” he adds.

"The rasterizers are connected to large screen monitors that allow easy inspection of the displayed details. The LV7300 has a similar menu structure to the Leader instruments on our other mobile units, so operators can move freely between them. Multiple visualization tools can be combined into a single screen view to allow easy side-by-side comparison of related parameters or channels."

Leader's LV7300 rasterizers take up acompact 1U half rack space. They provide signal generation in addition to a wide range of measurement tools and aSupport SDI signals from SD up to 12G. SD-SDI to 12G-SDI waveform, vector, image, audio and pattern displays enable exhaustive measurement and quality control of a wide range of audio and video formats. Measurement tools also include phase comparison and five-bar range display. You can implement a detection algorithm focus to ensure precise camera adjustment when working with low contrast sources where traditional focusing is difficult.

Detected errors captured on the LV7300 status screen can be logged using event logs and graphs in the long term. SDI embedded audio can be displayed as Lissajous waveforms as well as bar graphs.

This solution also includes Cinelite and Cinezone by Leader. Cinelite offers in-image metering of RGB, luminance and f-stop levels, allowing real-time inspection of brightness and exposure levels. F-stop based evaluation allows the operator to quickly respond to variations in lighting level. Cinezone superimposes false colors on the image to determine exposure zones.
