'The digital reality of Spain', to be debated from September 4 to 6 at the UIMP
AMETIC will bring together the best experts at the Digital Economy and Telecommunications Meeting within the framework of the Menéndez Pelayo International University in Santander to address digital transformation and its business opportunities.
Under the motto The digital reality of SpainAMETIC celebrates, from September 4 to 6, in Santander, its traditional Meeting of the Digital Economy and Telecommunications, within the framework of the summer courses of the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP). The event, which reaches its 31st edition and is co-organized with Banco de Santander, will place special emphasis on the main actors of the Digital Economy of our country. Companies and sectors, at different degrees of evolution in their digital transformation processes, together with technological enablers, will be the main protagonists of #santander31.
An edition that will be marked by a global vision of the digital economy from different perspectives, which will accommodate a wide spectrum of actors in the digital ecosystem essential in this transformation process. Technology providers from leading companies, large users from different sectors, representatives of the administration and, in some cases, successful startups, will present their points of view around the different scheduled discussion tables.
The meeting has a wide institutional representation. Álvaro Nadal, Minister of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda, will be in charge of opening the conference. While the closing will be carried out by José María Lassalle, Secretary of State for the Information Society and Digital Agenda of Spain. Carmen Vela, Secretary of State for Research, Development and Innovation, and Begoña Cristeto, General Secretary of Industry and SMEs, also appear in the program of the course, which also includes the general director of the CDTI Francisco Marín and José Manuel Leceta, general director of Red.es, whose sponsorship the event has. DigitalEurope, the European association of technology companies that brings together the entire digital industry, of which AMETIC holds the Vice Presidency, will also be represented at this 31st Meeting of the Digital Economy and Telecommunications.
Pedro Mier, president of AMETIC, highlights that "the digital transformation of Spain is already a reality of global reach in a large number of industrial and business sectors, assuming an indisputable driving capacity for the entire Spanish economy and society. Likewise, the drive of administrations and cities to satisfy the needs and desires of citizens with better and more efficient solutions is evident. In short, digital transformation focused on customers and citizens is the challenge we face in the global economy."

He Meeting of the Digital Economy and Telecommunications It constitutes one of the most relevant events in the calendar of the ICT Industry in Spain. A program has been designed with individual interventions and round tables that will revolve around proposals such as Connected Industry 4.0, Smart cities, Open innovation, Talent development 4.0, the digital divide, the impact of Artificial Intelligence and robotization, Necessary connectivity, Cybersecurity and privacy, Digital health, Smart Agro, eTourism, Smart Mobility, Electronics and automobile connectivity, Fintech, Learning services and Platform economy.
