Mediaset España and HBO Spain sign an agreement for the premiere broadcast of the series 'Supermax'

The fiction, directed by the prestigious Argentine director Daniel Burman ('The Broken Embrace'), recreates the survival odyssey of the participants of an extreme reality show abandoned to their fate in an old and inhospitable prison.

Mediaset España and HBO Spain have reached an agreement for the premiere broadcast of the series Supermax on the streaming platform before its open premiere on Cuatro. The launch of this fiction directed by Daniel Burman (The broken hug) on HBO Spain is scheduled for September 15.

Supermax, a series co-produced by the Brazilian company Globo, Mediaset España, TV Azteca (Mexico) and TVP (Argentina), is a fiction that combines action, adventure, survival and mystery in the setting of a reality show that takes place in an abandoned maximum security prison.

The series has an international cast in which the names of Santiago Segura, Cecilia Roth and Rubén Cortada stand out and which also includes the Argentine actors Antonio Birabent (fierce tango), Alexa Moyano (Colonia), Laura Novoa, Guillermo Pfening, Juan Pablo Geretto and Nicolás Goldschmidt; the Uruguayan César Troncoso (XX); the Mexican Alejandro Camacho; and the Brazilians Laura Neiva (Rio, I love you) and Felipe Hintze.

The film presents a former criminal prison converted into the set of the most extreme reality show on television. A large television network proposes the most difficult yet for its next season: an escape and survival game inside a former maximum security federal prison, commonly known as 'Supermax', abandoned years ago after a bloody riot and isolated in the middle of a desert.

The network will recruit as participants a varied group of seemingly harmless people, but who hide dangerous secrets that will turn their televised confinement into an extreme experience. The tension of the reality show will exceed all limits when, a few hours after the broadcast starts, an incident leaves the contestants and the presenter isolated in a hostile environment and without contact with the outside world. It will be then when the real competition to survive begins and where each player shows the true motivation why they accepted the challenge of Supermax, a place that hides a secret that is worth living for… or killing.
