Synopsis

In a town in Castile, endless fields of grain swayed by the wind stretch as far as the eye can see. There is a quiet municipality where the slaughterhouse of Francisco is located, a businessman who is dedicated to meat processing, importing cheap and low-quality pigs from Portugal and then selling them. His brother-in-law Alfonso, a veterinarian by profession, works at the slaughterhouse, a weak and somewhat cowardly man who deep down is tired of looking the other way, certifying animals of dubious quality and that anyone else would back down.

And all for what? Alfonso does not want his wife María José to find out about a little secret from the past that would ruin their peaceful marriage. This allows Francisco to keep his brother-in-law in permanent blackmail, covering up his illicit actions. What Alfonso does not know is that, in addition to validating this meat of dubious origin, a certain number of these Portuguese animals transport drugs.

However, an unexpected last-minute situation will disrupt the peaceful lives of these nondescript characters.
