Marisa Paredes will receive the Goya of Honor 2018

The Film Academy, an institution that she presided between 2000 and 2003, recognizes the Madrid actress with this award for a solid and long career.

Marisa Paredes will receive the Goya of Honor in the next edition that will take place in 2018. The Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences thus recognizes “a prolific and long career, a trajectory that she maintains with absolute vigor, betting on numerous works on national and international film projects defined by risk and prestige.”

In statements to the Film Academy after hearing the news from Lyon, where she is attending the Lumière Festival these days, she stated that she felt "moved. The Academy is very important for Spanish cinema and one feels very loved with this honor." The actress first felt "surprise, but it was followed by great emotion. Born in Madrid, Paredes began her studies at the Conservatory and the School of Dramatic Arts in this city.
