Sylvain Merle, new chief operating officer of Globecast

He replaces Philippe Fort, now retired, and will drive global distribution, contribution and media management operations.

Globecast has appointed Sylvain Merle as chief operating officer, replacing Philippe Fort, who held this position for 16 years before his retirement.

Merle joined Globecast in January 2017 as CTO. Now, in his new role as CTO, he will be responsible for driving global distribution, contribution and media management operations to ensure the highest level of service for Globecast customers. He will also ensure that the company is properly structured to provide comprehensive services to clients, and will continue to develop Globecast's technical infrastructure and operations to precisely align with client requirements.

Philippe Bernard, CEO of Globecast, noted that “with Sylvain's extensive experience in broadcast architecture, non-linear distribution, IPTV and IT, and as Globecast advances in the world of IP, technological virtualization and cloud-based media management services for media preparation and localization, cloud playback and VOD logistics: we believe it is the best option to continue pushing ourselves in our next phase of development.”
