‘City of the Sun’ by Rati Oneli, award for best documentary feature film at MiradasDoc 2018

In the category of best Spanish documentary 'Judas' by Raúl Capdevila, Juan Carrano, Raúl Egües and Alejandra Vera has won the main recognition.

The Guía de Isora International Documentary Film Festival and Market, LooksDoc, has awarded in its 12th edition to City of the Sun by Rati Oneli as best documentary feature film.

He award for best debut film has fallen on the Polish film Dust by Jakub Radej. Finally, in the category of best Spanish documentary Judas by Raúl Capdevila, Juan Carrano, Raúl Egües and Alejandra Vera has won the main recognition.

In the International Section, el jurado compuesto por Mirito Torreiro, Inti Cordera y Dominique Ollier ha otorgado el premio al mejor largometraje documental a la co-producción de Georgia, EE.UU., Qatar y Países Bajos City of the Sun de Rati Oneli. Dernier jours à Shibati, por su parte, del cineasta galo Hendrick Dusollier, ha obtenido una Special Mention en la misma categoría. Este mismo jurado ha otorgado el premio al mejor cortometraje, que ha ido a parar a Heimat del belga Sam Peeters. La Mención Especial, en este caso, ha recaído en la cinta chilena Sigo acá de Tana Gilbert.

Por su parte, el jurado compuesto por Ricardo Macián, Carmen Cobos y José Díaz Cuyás ha decidido que el premio a la mejor ópera prima vaya a la cinta polaca Dust by Jakub Radej. The Special Mention in this category has been awarded to the Swedish film Kawasaki Keirin by film director Sayaka Mizuno.

In the category of best Spanish documentary the same jury has decided that Judas by Raúl Capdevila, Juan Carrano, Raúl Egües and Alejandra Vera wins the main award and The sea looks at us from afar by Manuel Muñoz Rivas with a Special Mention.

In the Canarian Section The jury made up of Amaury Santana, Laura Rodríguez and Pedro Felipe Acosta has decided that the winner of the award for best Canarian documentary is Under the Earth by Nayra Sanz Fuentes. The filmmaker Dailo Barco, for his part, has received a Special Mention for ghost archipelago. Por último, el Premio Especial del Público ha ido a parar a El cirujano rebelde del cineasta italiano afincado en Suecia Eric Gandini.
