AMC Networks integrates France, Spain, Portugal and Italy into a single business unit

Eduardo Zulueta, president of AMC Networks International Southern Europe, will lead this new business unit. In addition, Zulueta also chairs AMC Networks International Latin America.

AMC Networks International Iberia, the largest producer and distributor of thematic television channels in Spain and Portugal, expands its scope of action to two new territories, France and Italy, and is now called AMC Networks International Southern Europe.

Eduardo Zulueta, president of AMC Networks International Southern Europe, will lead this new business unit. In addition, Zulueta also chairs AMC Networks International Latin America.

The new unit, AMC Networks International Southern Europe, maintains its headquarters in Madrid, will manage SundanceTV for the gal marketor, taking charge of the production, programming, marketing and distribution process. The channel, founded by Robert Redford, broadcasts independent film films that have won awards at the best festivals in the world and exclusively premieres acclaimed international series. SundanceTV can currently be seen in France on Orange, Canal+, SFR, Bouygues Telecom and FREE.

The business unit will explore new opportunities that may arise in the French audiovisual market and will work on the distribution of its television channels and content in Italy.

Manuel Balsera, Senior Vice President of AMC Networks International Southern Europe, will lead all areas of sales, marketing and digital, among others, while Pilar of the Houses, Vice President Cinema and Documentary Channels, will direct the programming and content acquisition areas. The rest of the functions will be assumed by the directors who were part of AMC Networks International Iberia.

The group produces and distributes 26 thematic television channels para los mercados de España, Portugal, Francia e Italia diseñados para todo tipo de públicos: Cine y series (AMC, Canal Hollywood, SundanceTV, Dark, XTRM, Somos y Blast); factual (Odisea, Historia, Crimen + Investigación y A&E); lifestyle (Canal Cocina y Canal Decasa); musical (Sol Música); infantil (Canal Panda y Biggs) y gaming (Machinima).

Historia, A&E y Crimen + Investigación son producidos para España y Portugal a través de The History Channel Iberia, una Joint Venture entre AMC Networks International Southern Europe y A+E Networks.

As for Canal Hollywood, Canal Panda and Biggs, they are produced exclusively for the Portuguese market through Dreamia, a company 50% owned by AMC Networks International Southern Europe and NOS.
