'Merlí' will have adaptations in France and Italy
The emblematic original TV3 series, produced by Veranda and distributed by LS Distribution, has achieved great international success. Under the title of 'La Faute à Rousseau' and 'Un professore', France 2 and RAI film their local versions.
Merlin, the emblematic TV3 series produced by Veranda y created by Héctor Lozano, continues to achieve great international success. Distributed by LS Distribution, the story of the peculiar philosophy professor, who has become a true phenomenon in Latin America, will have two adaptations in Europe. France and Italy prepare their own versions of the fiction that was originally broadcast on Catalan television for three seasons.
The producer DEMD (Madiawan Group) filming of the first season of Rousseau's fault. The French version will be broadcast in France 2 in 2021 and will have eight episodes. Starring Charlie Dupont (who will play Professor Benjamin Rousseau), along with Anny Duperey and Samira Lachhab, the series is directed by Adeline Darraux and Octave Raspail and is directed by Thomas Boulle, Agathe Robilliard, Ludovic Abgrall, Laura Raynaud, Laure Mentzel, Joris Morio and Cécile Polard.
Recently, Italy has also started filming its own version of Merlin. This adaptation, produced by Banijay Studios Italy for RAI 1, will be titled A professor and will have twelve episodes. It will star Alessandro Gassmann in the role of Philosophy professor Dante Balestra. Directed by Alessandro D'Alatri, is written by Sandro Petraglia, Fidel Signorile, Valentina Gaddi and Sebastiano Melloni.
Merlin, which has an extensive international run and has been seen in territories such as the United States (Spanish speaking), Latin America, India and Portugal, revolves around philosophy professor Merlí Bergerón (Francesc Orella). As if it were a new Aristotle, Merlí will choose a group of high school students in order to teach them to reflect and question things. This atypical teacher, with many faces, will confuse everyone around him and encourage his students to set goals, using sometimes reprehensible methods.
After the success achieved by fiction, Movistar+ has carried out, together with Veranda, a spin off titled Merlin: Sapere Aude, which follows Pol Rubio, Merlí's favorite student, as he studies Philosophy at the University, and which will air its second season in 2021.
