Five for, a Tokyo-based company, develops the interactive video game 'Circle of Saviors' using the ATEM 1 M/E Production Studio 4K and ATEM Television Studio HD switchers in its production.

Circle of saviors

The interactive video game, Circle of Saviors, used several solutions of Blackmagic Design, among them ATE mixersM 1 M/E Production Studio 4K and ATEM Television Studio HD. This is one of Blackmagic's first experiences in mixed reality environments, which in this case allows an additional player to join the action, while the main player moves freely in a virtual reality set.

The system was created by Five for, a company based in Tokyo, that offers different services that include the development of video games, virtual reality systems and 360° audiovisual productions.

Thanks to this technology, Five for has been able to generate two different types of virtual images in real time. One from the player's point of view and the other, a live composition of the virtual set. To do this, the company used ATEM 1 M/E Production Studio 4K and ATEM Television Studio HD switchers, along with a SmartView Duo monitor and a Teranex Mini rack rack.

Tamaki Omoto, CTO and executive producer of Five for, confirms that "we tried other mixers and programs to develop the system. However, we chose ATEM for the low latency, large number of layers for compositions and the reliability it offers with SDI connections. Using professional products for live broadcasts, we obtained reduced latency, in addition to the opportunity to perform real-time compositions in Full HD resolution, which is not possible to achieve through software alone.
