The Formula 1 will have its own platform in the coming months Over The Top (OTT) which will represent the organization's largest investment in its digital transformation to date.

Motor fans will be able to follow all the Formula 1, Formula 2, GP3 Series and Porsche Super Cup races, among others, in multi-camera, without advertising and with commentary in English, French, German and Spanish.

Its launch is initially planned in twenty markets, including Spain, Germany, France, USA, Mexico, Belgium, Austria, Hungary and many other Latin American countries. Access will initially be available via computer via the web, with mobile applications and smart TV applications, rolling out in stages on Amazon, Apple and Android, allowing users to watch their favorite sport on a variety of different devices at no additional cost.

The OTT platform will have different subscription levels from a basic offer to a premium option (F1 TV Pro) that will be around 10 euros.

Frank Arthofer, Director of Digital Business at Formula 1, said: "With the launch of F1 TV, we begin the journey to build a cornerstone of our digital transformation. F1 TV subscription products are clearly and centrally aimed at our most hardcore core of fans, and we firmly believe that, while we attract a new audience to the sport, we must always focus on offering products and experiences that serve the most avid F1 fans." He added: "Our objective with F1 TV is simple: “To provide our fans with the best service available to watch the Grands Prix live, giving them the best Over The Top sporting experience in the world. Our team and partners are eager to deliver on this vision.”

For his part, Mehul Kapadia, General Manager of F1 Business at Tata Communications, highlights that "F1 is the first global sport to adopt such an ambitious mobile strategy, and we are excited to be part of it. A single global OTT video platform, with multiple live streams and hundreds of hours of footage, gives fans the power to create their own exclusive and immersive motorsports experiences. It is a way to keep existing audiences engaged, and in the process, attract new fans to the world of F1.”
