Xavier de Paul has joined the group Lavinia as new general director of Audiovisual Services. De Pol (Barcelona, 1976) has extensive experience and experience in the audiovisual, telecommunications and media sectors. He has a Higher Telecommunications Engineer from the UPC, a master's degree in Telecommunications Networks and Systems from LaSalle-Ramon Llull, and a postgraduate degree from the IESE Business School.
For the last six years he has been the General Audiovisual Directorate of the Godó group, where he managed the radio stations RAC1 and RAC105, the television channel 8tv and the content production company Veranda. During this period, RAC1 has been the absolute audience leader, with more than 961,000 daily listeners (and a 45% share); RAC105 has remained one of the most listened to music stations in Catalonia; 8tv has consolidated 8 a day, one of the media's leading news programs and has maintained the successful Arucitys; and Veranda has developed successful products such as fiction Merlin and programs like Oh Happy Day, with four seasons on TV3.
Previously, De Pol had held different roles at Godó since 2006, both in the Financial area and in the advertising field at Publipress or in the digital part of lavanguardia.com, among others. Previously, he had held different positions in companies such as Retevisión and Amena, in the area of business planning and management.
Among the objectives of the 2020 Strategic Plan that the Lavinia group has developed in recent months, it is planned to accelerate its growth, enhance internationalization and improve innovation processes. In this sense, Lavinia is developing new services that integrate broadcast technology with digital technology, in order to offer highly competitive solutions in terms of performance and quality. The rise in audiovisual consumption in recent years and the diversity of distribution channels make it necessary to adapt the Group's strategy to this new scenario.
