Hortigüela replaces María Teresa Gómez Condado, who is leaving the Spanish digital sector employers' association to start a new professional project.

AMETIC, the employers' association of the Spanish digital sector, has appointed Francisco Hortigüela like new director general, a position that will be effective from next May. Hortigüela replaces María Teresa Gómez Condado who, after two years in office, leaves the employer's association to start a new professional project on his own initiative.

During this time, Gómez Condado, in close collaboration with the president of AMETIC, Pedro Mier, and the Board of Directors, have managed to strengthen the employers' association, both from the associative point of view and before public institutions. In addition, they have contributed to laying the foundations for the association's operations.

Hortigüela es Ingeniero Técnico de Telecomunicación por la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Máster en Dirección Estratégica de Marketing por ESADE Business & Law School, PDG en Management por IESE Business School – Universidad de Navarra, y Máster en Alta Dirección en la gestión de empresas en la cadena agroalimentaria por la Universidad de San Telmo.

The new general director of AMETIC is a person with a long professional career, who has wide recognition in the national and international sector. He has held positions of responsibility in the Institutional Relations department of Philips and Samsung. His last position was Director of Institutional Relations and Corporate Citizenship at Samsung.

Hortigüela knows the employers' association perfectly, since he was a member of the Executive Committee of AMETIC and its Board of Directors.

In his new position, Hortigüela will have as objectives the growth of the associate base; reinforce the position of AMETIC as a reference association for the digital industry and digitization in Spain; strengthening the presence of the association in Europe, as well as continuing with the growth process of the association.
