Sennheiser Ambeo Smart Headset: a curious headset capable of capturing binaural sound

The new Sennheiser headphones, in addition to reproducing high-quality audio, allow three-dimensional surround sound recording, as well as listening to binaural audio recordings (through both ears) through a compatible smartphone (iOS).

Sennheiser has unveiled the world's first headphones capable of reproducing and capturing sound: Ambeo Smart Headset.

Compatible with iOS devices, these headphones are capable of produce a binaural sound track (through both ears) and high quality when capturing video with your smartphone.

Thanks to this, the user will enjoy a three-dimensional and immersive sound experience every time they record and view their videos. Specifically, you'll feel like you're experiencing live sound every time you play back those recordings. This new sonic dimension is compatible with all headphones. With an intuitive design, the Sennheiser Ambeo Smart Headset are equipped with two capsules that integrate two pre-amplified omnidirectional microphones to capture the sounds of the environment just as the ears would.

Added to this is the Soft Limit distortion-free sound transmission technology, patented by the brand. Apogee, plus perfectly tuned A/D and D/A (analog/digital and digital/analog) audio conversion.

Transparent Hearing

On the other hand, the Sennheiser Ambeo Smart Headset provides another differentiating element: Transparent Hearing. This translates into the possibility of listening to what is happening around while the user is wearing them, as it allows mix the ambient sound of the environment with what is playing in the headphones.

This function provides great value in terms of safety, especially when the user is in large and crowded environments, is riding a bike or must pay attention to traffic, among other issues. The Transparent Hearing function can be activated using the control integrated into the cable and it also works when you are recording or making a call.

In addition to the unique 3D recording capabilities, the Ambeo Smart Headset also does its job perfectly as a high-quality headset.

Likewise, they provide maximum ergonomics thanks to their specially designed ear hook, while the extremely stable in-ear fit minimizes noise due to possible vibrations. In turn, the additional microphone integrated into the cable allows you to manage calls and control the iOS device using voice instructions.

App ControlUsers can customize advanced settings for their headphones with the free Ambeo Smart Headset iOS app. Among other things, it is possible to control the input level for 3D recording, toggle the different equalization settings or configure the Transparent Hearing function. It also allows you to customize the quick start of the chosen audio or video recording application or the Interact Mode, which makes it possible to communicate with those around you.

Voice prompts are enabled by default to confirm any changes made to the Ambeo Smart Headset controls. However, these alerts can be disabled if desired. Available for free from the App Store, the app is not required for normal operation of the headphones.

Finally, Sennheiser Ambeo Smart Headset has a Lightning Apple MFi certified connector and will soon be available to work with Android devices.
