Elena Trapé convinces at the Malaga Festival
'Las Distancias', by Elena Trapé, prevails at the Malaga Festival by winning both the Biznaga de Oro for the best Spanish film and the Biznaga de Plata for the best direction.
The distances, by Elena Trapé, has become the best Spanish film of the 21st edition of the Malaga Spanish Film Festival. The film has been awarded in the Festival's Official Section with the Golden Biznaga for best film, the Silver Biznaga for best direction and has received, ex aequo, the Silver Biznaga for best actress for the work of Alexandra Jiménez.
The film tells the life of four friends who travel to Berlin to surprise Comas for his 35th birthday. However, he does not receive them as they expected and little by little the group falls apart. They all begin to question the meaning of their friendship and will face the disappointment of accepting that their life is not what they expected when they were younger. Elena Trapé directs this film that she co-wrote with Miguel Ibáñez Monroy and Josan Hatero.
My dear brotherhood, the debut feature by Marta Díaz that has Malaga's Holy Week as its backdrop, has won the Silver Biznaga for best supporting actress for the role of Carmen Flores, and the Silver Biznaga Audience Award Fenosa Natural Gas, awarded by the public attending the screenings and a popular jury.
The Silver Biznaga Deluxe The best cinematography award went to Guillermo Nieto for You Will Not Sleep, while the award for best editing went to Pablo Zumárraga for his work on this same film.
The Biznaga for Best Actor went to Javier Rey, for the film Sin fin, while the Best Actress award went to Valeria Bertuccelli, for The Queen of Fear and Alexandra Jiménez, for The Distances.
The Silver Biznaga for Best Documentary has gone to Ainhoa, I'm not that, by Carolina Astudillo, a complex, rich and daring proposal that addresses the story of a lonely destiny that in turn evokes that of an entire generation.
In the Zonazine section, made up of Alejo Levis, Tamara Arévalo and Valentina Viso, has awarded the Silver Biznaga for Best Spanish Film to with the wind, by Meritxel Colell; while the Silver Biznaga for Best Ibero-American Film has gone to Courage House, by Baltazar Tokman, which also won the Biznaga for Best Director.
