Trapé's second feature film is a drama produced by Coming Soon Films about friendship, the passage of time and the disenchantment of a generation.

The story of a group of friends who travel to Berlin to surprise a colleague who turns 35 is the axis of The distances, the second feature that Elena Trapé tackles (Blog).

Alexandra Jiménez, Miki Esparbé, Isak Férriz, Bruno Sevilla and María Ribera star in this drama about friendship and the passage of time, which endorses John Lennon's maxim: “Life is what happens to you while you are making other plans.”

According to his production company, Coming Soon Films, The distances It reflects the disenchantment of a generation that is aware of being far from the goal it had projected. It tells how we often hurt those we need most, especially when we feel lost. Explains how fantasizing about having another life is not a way to escape from problems, only to delay them. What it means to mature and discover that your life is not what you had believed it could be.

In order to approach these characters in a realistic and everyday way, Trapé opts for a “naked” film of formal artifices; ensuring that the looks and gestures are the ones that reveal the internal conflicts of its protagonists.

The director discovered that Berlin was the only place that fit her story, since the melancholic feeling that her script gave off, written with Miguel Ibáñez Monroy and Josan Hatero, led her to think about that city and its harsh and soulless winter.
The distances está producida por Coming Soon Films en asociación con Televisión de Catalunya, Miss Wasabi y Busse & Halberschmidt, con la colaboración de RTVE, ICEC e ICAA.
