The latest version of the Grass Valley editor integrates closely with the GV Stratus production and content management system to efficiently meet news production needs.

Edius con HDR

The latest version of non-linear editing software Edius of Grass Valley incorporates new functions and integrates closely with the content and production management system GV Stratus to efficiently meet the needs in news production and includes several updates to support enhanced HDR editing.

Katsushi Takeuchi, vice president and general manager of editing systems at Grass Valley, notes that "we are continually improving and adding features in Edius to prepare for current and future broadcast trends and technology. Through almost a decade of accumulated developments and updates, Grass Valley has established Edius as the most versatile editing solution in the industry, supporting more resolutions, formats and frame rates than any other software."

New features included in Edius 9.2 include a new HDR compatible video viewer (RGB Parade, “nits” display), the possibility of editing color space lists and the possibility of adding new color spaces (ARRI – Alexa Wide Gamut/Log C, DJI – D-Gamut/D-Log), monitor control Eizo 4K HDR, Mync HDR support (preview, storyboard, export), and Apple ProRes MXF and Sony Venice RAW import support.

Additionally, Grass Valley has improved the performance of Canon Cinema RAW Light decoding and has included support for the Matrox IO v8 hardware controller.

Also now available for greater flexibility in using Edius, the Edius Floating License for Pro and Workgroup versions allows the management of multiple Edius licenses in a closed network environment. Users can install Edius on any number of machines and manage the number of Edius 9.2 clients running simultaneously on the network from a central license management server, so there is no need to manage multiple serial numbers.

Edius 9 users will benefit from the free upgrade to Edius 9.2 as part of the regular product improvement program.
