AJA Releases Desktop Software v13 with Hybrid Log Gamma Support

AJA also now offers a new optional firmware license for Kona IP that ensures interoperability with JPEG 2000 systems.

AJA Desktop Software v13

AJA has just announced the release of Desktop Software v13 which introduces support for Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG), for HDR 10 and HLG playout of Adobe Premiere Pro for AJA Kona 4, Io 4K and Kona IP, as well as Linux compatibility for AJA Control Room, among many new features.

With this release, Kona 4, Io 4K, and Kona IP gain support for 12-Bit/BT.2020 in Apple Final Cut Pro X; 48p in Avid Media Composer; and ProRes 4444 XQ 12-bit playback. Additionally, it allows you to downgrade from 4K / UltraHD to HD with KONA 4.

AJA has also released the new optional Kona IP firmware license, which ensures interoperability with JPEG 2000 systems over a network with TR 01 support and offers exclusive functionality for popular creative and editorial applications through Desktop Software v13.

Kona IP users can take advantage of the new firmware license to compress and decompress HD video in real time to and from JPEG 2000 encoded within an MPEG 2 transport stream and simultaneously ingest and monitor, based on an input and output of JPEG 2000 streams over 1GbE. Dual Kona IP configurations also support SDK developers with more demanding JPEG 2000 workflows.
