Samsung chooses images filmed with ARRI Alexa to show the potential of its new Onyx Cinema LED screens

Some of the latest movies shot with the ARRI Alexa camera will showcase the capabilities of the new 4K cinema screens.

Samsung you have selected the footage captured with ARRI Alexa to demonstrate the full potential of its new pantallas LED de cine Onyx 4K.

Using an array of modular LED panels, Samsung's goal with this technology is to replace movie projectors. The Samsung Cinema LED system with Ultra Contrast technology offers real blacks, high dynamic range y color P3 with supreme precision.

To show these features, Samsung has chosen the productions Liquid Sunshine, shot with Alexa Mini by Luo Pan, and Face to Face, shot by Tom Faehrmann with the new Alexa LF cameras.

“The new Samsung Cinema display impressed us with its HDR technology and remarkable image reproduction,” said Harald Brendel, director of image science at ARRI. Images taken with the ARRI Alexa LF camera are displayed with amazing effects. “We are pleased that Samsung has recognized Alexa images as the highest quality to demonstrate its new displays.”

ARRI will also work with Samsung providing technical support in projects developed with the new Onyx Cinema proposal. Samsung has already installed two screens in South Korea and one in South Korea. Zurich, Bangkok, Shanghai and Los Angeles will host installations of this innovative digital cinema system in the coming months.
