CNN, Fox News and Univision will produce news programs for Facebook in the United States
The social network is preparing to launch current affairs programs in the United States through Facebook Watch.
Facebook through your service Facebook Watch will distribute current affairs programs in the United States this year, presented by Anderson Cooper of CNN, Shepard Smith of Fox News y Jorge Ramos of Univision.
The social network has reached an agreement with the three broadcasters to produce programs that will be broadcast on Watch with the expectation of combating fake news and boosting its position as a generator of information.
The programs will be original to the social network and will be launched in the coming months with commercial breaks, said Campbell Brown, director of new global partnerships at Facebook.
“We try to put together a diverse set of partners who are already delivering quality news who are also experts at engaging audiences,” said Brown.
Other shows on Facebook Watch would be produced by Walt Disney Co-owned ABC News, Advance Publications' Alabama Media Group and the ATTN and Mic websites. Some programs will be broadcast daily and others will be broadcast on a different frequency.
