Nevion updates its SDN orchestration and control software
VideoIPath will now be rebranded as Nevion Maestro reflecting the fact that this solution has grown substantially from its original functionality to provide video connections over IP networks.
Nevion will premiere in IBC 2018 a new update to your popular software SDN orchestration and control, VideoIPath.
This solution will be renamed from now on as Nevion Maestro (although it will occasionally be referred to as Nevion Maestro VideoIPath in the interim). This new name reflects the fact that Nevion Maestro has grown substantially from VideoIPath's original functionality of providing video connections over IP networks.
Johnny Dolvik, director of product and development at Nevion, was delighted to "introduce the new updates to Nevion Maestro, both on a technical and brand level. The name change was long overdue, as the product now handles video, audio and data, and offers connection management, workflow planning, maintenance planning, monitoring and analysis, both in IP and mixed IP/baseband environments. It is already being used by major broadcasters and service providers around the world. world.”
New features
In addition to the name change, Nevion will announce new features for both LAN and WAN environments.
Nevion Maestro will add support for the OpenConfig interface of Arista to existing IGMP/PIM, Netconf/Yang and Openflow IP interfaces for IP switches from major vendors.
Nevion Maestro now also supports NMOS IS-04, which your device can register and use to discover other devices on the network. At IBC 2018, Nevion will introduce a new IS-05 NMOS connection management controller, which will allow Nevion Maestro to connect IS-05 compatible media equipment.
Other key new features of the Nevion Maestro include new support for Dual Path Redundancy (DPR) and Passive Path Redundancy (PPR), which adds to existing protection capabilities (SIPS, EPP and Passive EPP) as well as new bi-directional connections via the same path, meaning Nevion Maestro can now ensure that bi-directional connections can be established in a single operation and are guaranteed to follow the same path.
On the other hand, the graphical user interface has been updated and can choose between light or dark themes (designed to adapt to control room environments).
