Virtuoso (Nevion) upgrades with new WAN capabilities
Nevion has enhanced Virtuoso's remote broadcast and production contribution with new wide area network (WAN) capabilities.
Virtuoso, a key component of the Networked Live offering Sony, is a solution designed to transport video, audio and data through talk WAN in a “reliable, secure and real-time” way thanks to its adaptation, video coding, protection and monitoring functions.
The latest update to Virtuoso's multimedia capabilities, designed for remote contribution and distribution, includes transportation ASI over IP, TS gateway and JPEG XS on TS. Virtuoso TS functionality provides hand-off between networks with four 1G/10G network interfaces, including advanced TS monitoring and redundant switching. Likewise, the transportation functions ASI over Virtuoso IP, already available on Virtuoso FA, are now also available on Virtuoso MI.
Furthermore, the functionality Virtuoso JPEG XS in TS (also known as VSF TR-07) complements the already existing JPEG XS en SMPTE ST 2110 (known as VSF TR-08), as well as JPEG 2000 over TS. This particular TS solution allows lossless visual transportation and with ultra-low latency of HD and UHD signals, while maintaining synchronization of video and audio streams, making it suitable for aplicaciones de producción remota y procesos cloud.
